Even if you won the lottery, you couldn't buy it. Even if you hit all the happy hours, you would never find it. Even with 138,000 troops in the field, you couldn't win it.

It was a rare event in a lifetime crammed with redundant days. It was a gathering of rare people,

with rare gifts, and rare convergence. It was a day all of us can take with us as a grounding, as a

measure of what is real and what is not. And perhaps you noticed how the wind and the trees and

the birds let go full flow their art with yours'. I value the days that are myth-makers, when the

right people come together at the right time to form their own electric field. I appreciate each of you.

I have to say, that as much as I enjoyed the gathering, it wasn't until I saw the video that Ralph shot

that day ( and edited in a fever overnight ), that the mythic nature of the gathering hit me. For one

thing, I could hear the poetry clearly, even could hear Paula's little daughter's poem, and the poems

you shared Saturday were extraordinary - each one multi-layered and flood-weathered, putting words

to realities that strike dumb most of the sleepwalkers around us. I truly appreciate your existence.

And Ralph did an extremely harmonic and creative treatment of the footage - including a special

rendering of Michael's birthing poem that is COSMIC - amazing, Ralph. There's also a slideshow in the

video with flowing transitions in rythm with one of Amanda Joy's songs. I spent all evening savoring

it and contemplating the symbols. Thanks, Ralph, and that's for including your video piece about

emergence - a " birthing." I'll put Ralph's email address below - urge you all to get a copy - I think he

will make it available for about $10. The only poet missing is Jonathan's reading, and I think Ralph

wants to video you, Jonathan, so he can include it - so contact him. Also, I would like to add your

poems to the pages that have your pictures, so send them to me, please - including your re-write, Carol.

We have several dozen pictures here - could have been many more - some beautiful shots, most

of them Ralph's portraits. Hope you can feel some of the magic of the day.
